The loss of the competition of the original He 112 design against the Bf 109 in the middle 1930s Luftwaffe fighter competition was not the end. The He 112 was quite promising and its development was continued by Ernst Heinkel’s team with the hope of a possible change of mind of the authorities. The V9 was the prototype of the B series, a very aesthetically pleasing design with very good qualities for its meagre power and a very powerful armament:2x20mm cannons and 2×7.9 mm MG. It was not enough, the Bf 109 was in full scale production and was easier to manufacture. Heinkel was nevertheless allowed to manufacture the B series to exportation selling them in some numbers to Japan,Rumania,Hungary and Spain
