1975. Two confronted countries (the crews became good friends) shaking hands across two wonderful machines. Apollo spacecraft last and Deke Slayton making his long overdue space flight. To some just a stunt or mere diplomacy in space, but not to me. It was an utterly interesting mission.
By the way, to the Soviets it was “Soyuz-Apollo”; the classic “I’m first” syndrome.
