Fiat BR.20 Cicogna: Not a babies’ carrier.

Fiat B.R.20 Cicogna: Not a babies' carrier.

The Cicogna (Stork) was an Italian medium bomber which entered service in 1936. One of the best of its class of its era, the B.R.20 proved its worth in both the Spanish Guerra Civil and the Chino-Japanese war. It aged badly though. Due to its basically too classic early/middle 1930’s construction methods and also because they’re both underpowered and underarmed the Cicogni were at the beginning of WW2 mainly obsolete. They were little by little replaced in first line duties by other barely more modern designs.
