Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6/Trop: Fighter's Profiles

Major Heinz “Pritzl” Bär and a Gustav of the Stab I./JG 77 photographed on an airfield in Tunisia, end of April 1943. After fighting a losing battle against ever-increasing Allied air superiority the unit withdrew a few weeks later.
Bär was a very interesting and complex character with an awesome soldier story. I must confess, he is one of my favorite fighter pilots.

His “DAK” (Deutsches Afrikakorps) wristwatch band was way too cool.
