Uppercu-Burnelli UB-20: Packard helpin’ a Ford…

One of those curious and not very commercially successful “lifting bodies” designed by Vicent Burnelli…, he was a stubborn fellow, that’s for sure.
In this 1935 publicity stunt the Packard-engined UB-20 took a Ford V-8 convertible to about one mile of altitude where the V-8 driver started its engine to supposedly test its high altitude performance.


Up they went.
