Lockheed F-104G Starfighter: “Good things, when short, are twice as good”

The “Missile” earned a well(bad)-deserved fame as a widowmaker during its operative life, with one exception: the Ejército del Aire (Spanish AF). In its quite brief service here in Spain the 104 caused zero casualties during its over 17.000 hours over the Bull Skin.
Glorious photo of two of them taken when the squadron was in the middle of a squadron number change: from 161 Sqn to 104 Sqn…..a most appropriate name.

As the great Spanish writer Baltasar Gracián said: “Lo bueno, si breve, dos veces bueno”.
