Canadair Sabre Mk.6: “You can run but….”

The Canadian Mk.6 is considered to be the best performer of the original Sabre day fighter lineage. Equipped with a powerful Orenda engine and outfitted with wing leading edge slats, the Mk.6 enjoyed high climb rate and improved high altitude performance combined with wonderful handling at lower speeds – they were the sport cars of NATO in the 1950’s.

Curiously they thought the controversial light weaponry of the original Sabre didn’t need a change….aesthetically, in my opinion they were by all means right.
