Deperdussin TT: Only the Brave (II).

Deperdussin TT: Only the Brave.

The pre-war Depersussin’s were famous for their fantastic performances, precious wooden monocoque fuselages and refined finish. The military TT model was a two-seater reconnaissance aircraft built just before the Great War. Used in modest numbers early in the war, others assets were more efficient, they were soon relegated to second-line duties.
Around 1913 two TT were fitted with this defensive gun stand. The installation proved to be both cumbersome and draggy, but it allowed the very exposed gunner to fire his Hotchkiss MG ahead, a very desiderable quality back then. There is no record about its posible  participation in aerial combats.

Imagine been there while the pilot carries out drastic control imputs…
