Boeing 312 “Honolulu Clipper”: Massive Beauty.

Magnificent 1938 photo of the first 312 produced. At that stage “Honolulu Clipper” was already equipped with the interim twin vertical stabilizers installed instead of the original single one. Later, in search of a cure to the lack of directional stability, the central fin was reinstalled solving the problem and creating in the process that really iconic tail.

Those Boeing Clippers were, without doubt, a class apart.
