McDonnell F3H-2 Demon: Lead Sled with a View.

McDonnell F3H-2 Demon: Lead Sledge with a View.

The Demon interceptors suffered a protracted and tortuous development, thanks to the shameful retirement of its original model due to the failure of their horrible J40 engines. With the adoption of the barely effective J71 engine and a serious redesign, the F3H-2 became a decent if somewhat lacklustre fighter; the “Lead Sled” moniker says it all.

Awesome in-flight take. The Demons had, nevertheless, one of the handsomest cockpit designs in my humble opinion.
