Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis: Marchin’ Firmly Forward.

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis: Marchin' Forward.

Just after WW2 the always practical Russians attacked the obvious need of jet fighters with what all they have in hand. In the case of the MiG-15, the high speed technology acquired to the Germans -its clearly an offspring of Kurt Tank’s Ta 183- and the jet engine technology foolishly given by the British. Anyway they stirred the cocktail just right: the MiG-15 turned out to be a splendid machine in decent hands…., of course.

Pretty bunch of 15bis’ on a typically Russian tarmac during the very early 1950s. All too Soviet: read orderly and nondescript.
