Blériot XI: Eponymous...almost.

The nimble Blériot XI was the epitome icon of French aviation in the pre-WW1 era; being the first to cross the English Channel in 1909 sure helped in the sales.

In this “jolie” photo the great Edmund Audermars flying his XI in Vichy,1912. Jacques-Henri Lartigue masterfully capture here the aviation “folie” of the era.
