As I said the other day in the case of the Breguet XIV, the Salmson was another reassuring case of “swords into ploughshares.”. Just after the end of The Great War Pierre-Georges Latécoère initiated with these trusty aircraft the “Lignes Aériennes Latécoère”, what became later Aéropostale, the famous “La Ligne” (The Line). At first, he employed “Plain Jane” demilitarised Salmsons but later some were modified with this more civilized 2- passenger cabin.
Beautiful vintage cutaway. I love its peculiar water-cooled Salmson (Canton-Unné) 9Z radial engine.
