Douglas AD-4 & A-1H Skyraider: War Games.

The very “Able Dogs” were well-known during their service for their high armament capabilities. Fair then that when in Oct 1968 the time came to “celebrate” the 6 millionth pound of ordnance dropped in the Nam War the fortunate aircraft to do so was an A-1 -one of the VA-25 “Fist of the Fleet” (USS Midway). Irreverently they thought a mere bomb wasn’t enough so they became creative: a toilet seat with the unit badge….the aircraft also gained the “Paper Tiger II” temporary name in the process.

By the way, during the Korean War (1952) a Douglas AD-4 Skyraider of the VA-195 “Dambusters” did the same thing but with a kitchen sink.
