Tupolev Tu-114: Those Germans Again.

Superb photo composition portraying the Tu-114‘s superlative Kuznetsov NK 12 turboprops. These engines were developed just after the end of World War II by deported German engineers headed by Junkers’ engine expert Ferdinand Brandner. They took as a basis Junkers’ late war product, the daring Jumo 022 engine. That swept wing has a also a very German scent….
