Junkers Ju 88 A-4: Resting Places (II).

14 September 1942. After it took part in an attack on Allied Convoy PQ.18, this Ju-88 of the 8./KG30 made a successful belly landing on the Kapp Borthen (Spitsbergen, one of Svalbard islands) sandfloes. Safe and sound, the crew destroyed the bomber and prepared to face the isolation. Two days later they were discovered by a He 111; following their lead they reached later in the day a place when the very same He 111 picked them up.

Such a time capsule.
