Short Sandringham 7: Paradise not lost.

The Sandringham were, in essence, no-nonsense demilitarized conversions of Short Sunderland flying boats. Quite handy during the war, these flying boats continued their service long, long past their time. This particular Sandringham was a former BOAC 30-seats postwar “Bermuda Class” seen here with its ultimate operator, Reseau Aerian Interinsulaire (Tahiti), a company that operated it until 1970. A lucky survivor, one of the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Le Bourget) vast number of hidden treasures.

Just an awesome photo.
