NAA F-86D Sabre Dog: “Here I come to save the day!”.

The 1950’s, when American fighter interceptors got rid of their cannons, just for a little while. An elegantly attired Sabre Dog of the 86th FIS firing a salvo of 2.75inch “Mighty Mouse” unguided folding fin rockets. The clever retractable pannier held 24 of those “very German heritage” rockets.

Artwork by Anthony Cowland.

Good Doggie.
