Nakajima Ki.44-II Shoki : “Fly it like you stole it”.

Superbly clean fuselage design, “total vision” bubble cockpit canopy, short racy wings, and an elegant tail feathers design. The latter was Yasushi Toyama’s first employ of his classic formula: the fin and rudder well at the rear of the horizontal stabilizer….. Madly in love.

Unusual, an incredibly cool, inflight photo of the captured Nakajima Ki.44-II (Serial No. 2068) found at Clark Field (Philippines). Evaluated at Eagle Farm Airbase, Brisbane, Australia, 1945.
