The Nardi FN.305 was a very successful Italian advanced (fighter) trainer and liaison aircraft design of the middle 1930s. A few hundreds of these conventionally built monoplanes were built. They’ve operated in quantity by the Regia Aeronautica and by some foreign countries.
Apart of the basic models, two long-range FN.305D variants were also produced. They’re powered by 200 hp Walter Bora radials instead of the standard Alfa Romeo inlines. YR-POP was a single-seater “D” (the other was a two-seater) purchased by Yugoslavia for an aborted North Atlantic nonstop flight attempt.
