Republic P-47B Thunderbolt: “Never let the truth get in the way….”

Not a good idea to flee from a “Jug” attack by diving. The heaviest of WW2 single-engined fighters, with that weight the P-47 dove like a bat out of hell.

Quite strange the models selection for this dynamic piece of propaganda/advertisement. The forward slanted radio antenna of this “Jug” denotes it’s a “B” model…. a variant that didn’t see front-line service. Besides, the victim’s tail looks like Heinkel He 112‘s…. not one of Luftwaffe’s standard fighters.
