Slick and elegant -totally “Dassault”, in fact- the SEMB2 was the first Western European supersonic aircraft to see service. The last step in the clever jet family evolution Dassault started with their very pedestrian Ouragan.
As a devoted Dassault operator during the 1950s, the Israeli Air Force didn’t lose time in purchasing the SEMB2. The two dozen bought -no money for more- flew and fought with elan until the survivors started a second live with the Honduras Air Force in the middle 1970s.
1/6 of the Israeli SEMB2’s goin’ up for business. That Lightning bolt paintwork was originally used by the French AF…. the David’s Warriors smartly abided by.
