Short Stirling Mk.IV: “I Got Stripes”.

D-Day, 72 years ago.

To separate the wheat from the chaff these now famous black & white stripes were applied to fighters, photo-reconnaissance, troop carriers, glider tugs, twin-engined medium and light bombers and those with special tasks.
Already obsolete as bombers, these Stirlings were used either as glider tugs (my guess) or as transports.
