Hawker Hunter FGA.9: Lookin’ for Glory.

Superb portrait of a 43 Sqn RAF pilot taken in 1966. During much of the 1960’s and until reformed in 1969 this squadron was based in very hot, literally and euphemistically, Aden.
Our guy has peculiar tastes. His is wearing a Helmets Ltd fiberglass MK.1A/M bonedome with a not very stylish visor; a non-standard addition, it seems. That hard helmet had to be worn with a inner “G” cloth helmet. To complete the combo he employs also a very-American MS2201 (USAF MBU-3/P) oxygen mask.

“Gloria Finis”
