René Bigand: “Un pilote de grande classe, un homme droit.”

Dassault’s superb 1960s chief pilot and some of his stallions. At the bottom the Mystère 20 prototype in which he performed the type first flight (1963). In the middle the Mirage IV 01 Brigand used to break the world speed record over 1000 km in a closed circuit (1960). At the top the Mirage F1 01 he took of its maiden flight and later, sadly, also the one of his tragic last one in 1967.

This wonderful portrait and the french quotation by aviation historian J. Noetinger.
