The good ole Jumbo celebrates today its fiftieth anniversary. Taken from granted nowadays, the 747 supposed a real Revolution, with capital letter; to think that less than 66 years after the Wright Brothers’ first flight we got this…., the progress is spellbinding to say the very least.
Hilarious moment in the Airplane (1980) movie. The 747 has also been a regular movie star.
There was a great documentary called, I Was A Jet Set Stewardess on not to long back. All of the stewardesses agreed, the romance went out of flying with the introduction of the 747. Having flown before and after, I would have to concur! Still, hard to not be in awe of the 747! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sbDzomUSRI
Yep, that doc is almost as awesome as the 747.
