This gorgeously sculptured B-24 model statue -with other iconic warbirds- is placed in front of the truly stunning Cadet Chapel at the USAF Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

  1. Unfortunately, if any one want’s to visit the chapel, they have until June, after which, it will be closed fore at least four years for renovation. seems the bean counters decided to save money when it was built, and used calk and putty to hold the windows in, it has leaked ever since. Now they are going to retrofit the gaskets that the designers specified in the first place! The chapel is actually five, serving all religions, they have even installed an outdoors circle of rocks for the Pagan and earth-centered faiths.

  2. What an achievement for the USA. One B-24 bomber was able to be completed every 63 minutes at Ford’s Willow Run Plant (at its peak production), with a total of 18,500 B-24 bombers produced at all plants.
Thanks to the economic might of the USA it holds the record as:
The World’s most produced bomber in history.
The World’s most produced heavy bomber in history.
The World’s most produced multi-engine aircraft in history.

  3. No, no problems like that. In Britain we had all kinds of rockets, buzz-bombs and bombers, both German and, surprising to many people, Italian, overhead.
