Boeing 367-80: On a Barrel Roll.

The classic moment when “Tex” Johnston honoured his nickname “barrel rolling” -two times- the Dash 80 over Seattle in 1955.

Notice the stunningly contoured and painted P&W JT3C nacelle. Priceless both photo and video.

  1. Lion Air isn’t out of the woods yet by any stretch of the imagination.
MCAS is among a multitude of contributing factors.

    • Boeing is no longer the engineers’ company it used to be. Corporative greed has kept the 737 design way, way too long in the tooth…., with tricks and sadly with fatal consecuences.

  2. I still say, Tex did this as a thumb in De Havilliand’s eye! He new, the general population would not know that a Comet could easily do an aileron roll also. So in their mind, the Boeing design was the safe way to fly.
