Fairchild UC-123B Provider: Orange Rain.

Reading this quarantine Karl Marlantes’ stupendous “Matterhorn” Vietnam War novel. In one of its chapters this horror of a program appears as a sort of “guess star”. One of those angels of madness spraying death in this superb photo.

  1. I remember watching a training film in the 70s on how to properly mix agent orange. The guys were doing it with their sleeves rolled up and bare handed. I always wounder how many of them are still with us?

  2. Troops were told that Agent Orange was harmless and of no concern. Sadly, the action in Vietnam was considered safe and acceptable because the British had used the same chemical defoliants in Malaya in the 1950s.
