SEPECAT Jaguar S: Resting Places (XXXVII).

XW563 was the Jaguar S second prototype (S.07). First flown in 1970, this Jaguar went to serve as a Jaguar International demonstrator. Retired in 1977, this storied prototype became for a long while a weapons loading trainer tool with the RAF. Later, cleaned up, it masqueraded as a proper RAF Jaguar on gate-guard duties. First at RAF Brüggen (Germany), then at RAF Cotishall and with the closure of the latter in 2006 to County Hall, Norwich.

A spellbinding photo taken at his latest home; so far. The “nose job” of the British Jaguars meant business.

  1. Say what ever you want about the Queen, she certainly never minces words. Then again, when she was in her formative teen years, when most people form their ideals of beauty, she had Spitfire’s flying over head every day!

  2. Yes, and that’s like comparing beauty and the beast! The Jaguar was not a very pretty thing to look at (IMHO).
