The SK-2 was that SK-1 development which put on an uniform. The obvious alteration from the original was its conventional, if way too rearward placed, cockpit canopy. First flown in Oct.1940, the prototype displayed in flight the same pleasant handling of its forebear. It suffered a landing mishap in December of that year. Anyway, by then its high wing loading and modest range decided the authorities to not put this beauty into production.
As we can observe, the SK-1 fighter adaptation didn’t lose one iota of its remarkable charisma.
Just like some of the French fighters, it looked like it should have been on the starting line at Cleveland!
