50 years ago the first mission after the lucky disaster of the Apollo 13 lifted up from Kennedy LC-39A launch pad. The Fourteen (Shepard-Roosa-Mitchell) was the less experienced Apollo crew ever sent to the Moon. The 1/2 rookie (Mercury veteran and Chief of Astronaut Office) Alan Shepard) was determined both in getting into a lunar mission and in completing it whatever it takes. He also played some golf there.
A study in men’s early-1970s casual fashion next to a shiny LM training mock-up.
Inexperienced maybe, but still part of the most elite! 24 men have been to the moon, and only 12 have walked on it! Yes, I am jealous.
Can’t argue with that.
