This DC-2-115E has some history behind it. It entered service with KLM as PH-AKH “Haan” in 1935. Later it was delivered by some Swedes to the Ilmavoimat (Finnish Air Force) on February 1940, during the “Winter War”. With the Finns our DC-2 (coded DC-1/DO-1) was employed at first as a makeshift bomber, but soon reverted to its natural transport role. The Ilmavoimat kept it in service until 1955. It ended its productive life as a picturesque café in the city of Hämeenlinna (1958-1979). Gladly, the Finnish Air Force Museum acquired it in 1981, after the business went bankrupt. Restored in 2009-2011 and now with its full 1944 military colours, it’s now on display at the Tuulos Shopping Centre.
Terrace included!
1958 Plymouth Belvedere and a Peugeot 403, methinks.
Wonder what the logo on Peugeot’s door is: taxi company? Other business? Government department?
Quite intriguing indeed.
