NAA Mustang IA: Some idea.

These weird wooden wheels were fitted to the early Mustangs -a British Mustang IA in this case- so they may be moved around the ramp at the North American Aviation’s Inglewood plant. To spare or economize a nickel or two, maybe. Real tyres were employed later, obviously.
