This french monstrosity was a contender for a mid-1920s BN3 (heavy night bomber) requirement. Powered by a pair of 480hp Gnome & Rhône 9K, this high wing, metal frame monoplane was notorious because its crew (3-49) was placed inside a heavily glassed thick centre wing section. First flown in 1926, it competed against other “french beauties” and the no-nonsense Lioré et Olivier LéO 20. The latter won in the end so the only DB-10 built when nowhere. Anyway, the people of Dyle et Bacalan continued to explore the thick wing-fuselage idea a little bit longer.
One of the prettier of its era, and there were a lot of contenders for that french beauty pageant. Those massive props were certainly very impressive.
