SEPECAT Jaguar A: They also served.

The French A variant was less-sophisticated of the basic attack model produced by both SEPECAT partners. The A were also retired earlier, but not before they earned their keep in action. 30 years since their real “coming out” -after some ex-colonies work- at the 1991 Gulf War (Opération Daguet).

A pair of thirsty chats sauvages in their very convenient desert camo.

  1. Interesting side note, in the skies over New Guinea, both sides wildly over calmed aerial victories. The P-39 pilots claimed a staggering 95 Zeros. Part of this was multiple pilots shooting at one target. Many were probably the results of the above humidity contrails. As we all know, if a Zero is trailing smoke, it is just a mater of time until it blows up! Conversely, if an Airacobra is trailing white vapor, it’s radiators are leaking, so it to is on it’s way down. For the record, the real score Zeros 15, Aerocobras 15. That’s right 1:1!
