Curtiss Kittyhawk I: Resting Places (XLVI).

The garish former RCAF Kittyhawk I which served as “bait” for twenty years (1948-68) on the roof of a gas station in Everett, WA. Its prop turned thanks to an electric motor.

The inevitable sharkmouth was just about right.

  1. Parts from 15370 were used to get N94466 and N5672N back into the air. Then 15370 went through decades of start and stop restoration. Finally taking to the air in 1992, in USAC markings as Old Exterminator. Sadly, she crashed with the loss of the pilot 5 April 2009. Parts were salvaged and are being used to make another Kittyhawk!
