Caproni Ca.310 Libeccio: Il più bello.

With this neat aircraft Cesare Pallavicino continued the logical evolution of his line of light recon/bomber aircraft started with the Ca.309. The Ca.310 was a updated, up-powered version of the latter equipped with a retractable undercarriage. First flown in 1937, the Libeccio (Southern Wind) saw its operational debut during the Spanish Guerra Civil when sixteen with the Aviazione Legionaria. Circa 310 of the Ca. 310 were manufactured despite its so-so performance. The bulk of production served with the Italians, but it was also exported to a few other countries.

If I counted them right the dozen bought by Yugoslavia appear in this cute photo. They used theirs as trainers, and liked them. Not an universal feeling. Anyway, the Ca.310 was in my opinion the prettiest of the family.
