This pretty awesome looking seaplane was conceived in the mid-1930s to fulfill a requirement to replace the Bizerte in French Navy service. The Br.730 prototype took its maidern flight in 1938. After its convincing tests an improved model was ordered into production. Then WW2 interfered and no Br.731 was available when France surrendered. The Fifteen produced were completed under Vichy, but of those, only four unfinished airframes survived WW2; the others were destroyed by the Allies. Completed postwar, those four served with the French Navy until 1954.

A four engine seaplane, what more do you have to say!
